North Korea deploys new 240mm artillery rocket launcher systems along border with South Korea

North Korea is deploying improved artilleries with a longer range at its frontline military units, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported on Sunday, June 30, 2013, referring to a government source. North Korea's military is replacing 107mm multiple rocket launchers deployed on the border with South Korea with the improved 240mm multiple rocket launchers M-1991, the source said, adding the improved artilleries would pose a greater threat to South Korea's capital areas.

Kyrgyzstan discusses bilateral military ties with China to strengthen cooperation.

United States has started sending light weapons and anti-tank weapons to Syrian rebels.

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of United States has started sending weapons to Jordan with a view to arming small groups of vetted Syrian rebels within a month, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, June 27, 2013. "The CIA is expected to spend up to three weeks bringing light arms and possibly anti-tank missiles to Jordan," the newspaper said in its report, citing diplomats and U.S. officials briefed on the plans.
Syrian rebels have only a few of anti-tank weapons like the Russian-made RPG-7 to fight against Syrian army tanks.

China will send combat troops in Mali for a peacekeeping mission.

Chinese armed forces will be sent on a peacekeeping mission in the west African country of Mali, the government has said. According to the Chinese Defence Ministry, it is the first time that Chinese armed forces will dispatch its security forces for peacekeeping mission.

BAE Systems and United Technologies Corporation have completed a successful guided flight test of the Multi-Service Standard Guided Projectile (MS-SGP) at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. All MS-SGP guided flight test objectives were achieved, demonstrating its performance from a 5-inch 62-caliber Mk 45 Mod 4 Naval Gun System.

Firsts modernized self-propelled artillery howitzer 2S19M2 enter in service with the Russian army.

The infantry artillery brigade of the Southern Military District of the Russian army has received the first upgraded self-propelled artillery howitzer "MSTA-S" 2S19M2. All the commanders of the new MSTA-S have undergone training.
The 2S19 MSTA-S 152mm self-propelled howitzer is in service with the Russian army since 1989.

Russia will provide military equipment and armoured vehicles to Kyrgyzstan in 2013.

Russia’s defense minister has said Moscow would begin sending weapons and other military equipment to Kyrgyzstan this year, not in 2014, as previously announced. Supplies as part of a bilateral armed forces assistance program will start in “the fourth quarter of 2013,” Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting with the head of the Central Asian state.

Iveco Defence Vehicles and its partner, the French company Soframe - a subsidiary of the Alsatian Lohr Group – have handed over the first of 200 multi-purpose military vehicles of the Porteur Polyvalent Terrestre (PPT) Programme to the French Armed Forces. A3SM: A True Game Changer for Submarine Self Defence against Threats from the Sky

As part of the Paris Air Show Navy Recognition was invited by DCNS to visit their factory located near Angoulême in southwestern France. The 260 year old site used to manufacture guns for the "French Royal Navy". It now specializes in the production of submarine equipment such as torpedo tubes and torpedo handling systems. It is also the place where the FREMM frigates' vertical launch systems are produced. The focus of the visit however was the A3SM, a new anti-air defence weapon system for submarine currently under development by DCNS and MBDA.

Russia awaits a political decision to deliver several Yak-130 combat trainer aircraft to Syria.

Russia has manufactured several Yak-130 combat trainer jets for Syria as part of a deal signed in 2011, but no final decision on delivery has yet been made, a Russian official source said on Thursday, June 20,2013. DCI-AIRCO, in partnership with the French Air Force, has proposed fighter pilot training since 2008. From the theoretical phase to fighter specialty these various training phases take place on French Air Force bases (Salon de Provence, Cognac, Tours and Cazaux). For 5 years, the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) has entrusted DCI with the training of its pilots. After the satisfactory training of the first 4 cadets, Qatar has sent two further batches to France, that are under training.

Iconic Section Of HMS Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier Arrives At Rosyth

THE HUGE aft island of HMS Queen Elizabeth passed under the Forth Bridge today (Friday June 21) as it made its way to Rosyth, where the ship is being assembled. The iconic section, known as Upper Block 14, was constructed in 90 weeks by Aircraft Carrier Alliance workers at BAE Systems in Scotstoun. The aft island houses HMS Queen Elizabeth’s air traffic control systems and will be the centre of all on-board flight operations.

Around 700 combat-equipped U.S. troops will stay in Jordan after a training exercise to cope with a worsening security situation arising from the ongoing conflict in Syria, U.S. President Barack Obama said on Friday, June 22, 2013. Chinese combat trainer aircraft two-seat version Xiaolong FC-1B unveiled at Paris Air Show 2013

The 50th International Paris Air Show was launched at the Le Bourget Airport near Paris on June 17, 2013, where the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) showcased in the main exhibition hall a variety of its aircraft models, including a single-seat version and a two-seat version of the Xiaolong Fighter China 1 (FC-1), the Hongdu L-15 "Falcon" advanced jet trainer (AJT), the Yilong/Pterodactyl-1 multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), Y-8C transport aircraft, etc.
